London Classics went ‘swimmingly’ for Andy!

A huge ‘well done’ is in order! On 22nd September 2018 Ainscough Industrial Services’ Group IT Manager Andy Argile completed the Swim Serpentine. The 2-mile challenge in London’s Hyde Park took 1 hour and 5 minutes, with unexpected obstacles such as a broken wetsuit zipper cropping up along the way.

The challenge forms part of the London Classics – an achievement awarded to anyone who completes the London Marathon, Ride London (100-mile bike ride) and the Swim Serpentine within a certain time frame. In 2017 Andy completed the marathon in 05:34:43 and the Ride London, so his recent swimming achievement has won him a spot in the London Classics Hall of Fame.

While completing the London Classics, Andy raised over £8,500 for Brain Tumour Research and the Pituitary Foundation. Andy and his family were keen to support these charities as Andy’s sister suffers from the long-term effects of a brain tumour.

Our team is hugely proud of Andy and everything he has achieved!
