The AIS Vanguard London Branch
Supporting industrial operators of all sizes across a wide variety of sectors, our London branch serves Greater London and the South East with responsive, professional industrial services.
The region has the largest manufacturing output of anywhere in the UK and accounts for around a quarter of exports. It is also a region that attracts investment and drives innovation, with emerging sectors and best practice approaches to efficiency, quality and environmental compliance. The industrial sectors in such a dynamic region are constantly evolving to optimise efficiency, embrace new technology and adapt to changing commercial patterns. Our expert team and fleet of lifting equipment in London are here to provide support and resources whatever your industrial services requirements may be. We are the industrial services company in London and the South East that can help with machinery decommissioning, removal and installation, factory moves, reconfiguration, decommissioning, asset optimisation, asset rationalisation or realisation projects, logistics, and all complex, technical and heavy lifting requirements.
London and the South East is a globally renowned hub of innovation in the pharmaceutical, life sciences and healthcare sectors. These specialist environments require sector-specific knowledge of SHEQ protocols and projects often involve delivering a mission critical scope of work during short shut down periods or in live operational settings to avoid business interruption. Our skilled teams work collaboratively with clients across these sectors to ensure we fully understand your operational and commercial requirements, enabling us to design the project around your needs, risk factors and deadlines.
The region is also home to a wide range of advanced technology-based manufacturing companies, including operators in the aerospace, advanced engineering, marine, energy and defence sectors. Our machinery moving, installation and decommissioning capabilities enable us to support clients across these sectors with turnkey projects for factory reconfiguration, decommissioning or expansion, and asset rationalisation, realisation and optimisation programmes.
We also work with a number of consumer-focused sectors in London and the South East, including food and drink and ecommerce. These sectors are influenced by consumer trends, and our wide-ranging fleet of lifting equipment ensures we can react quickly to help clients capitalise on new opportunities for expansion, diversification and productivity.
We carried out the safe installation of an overhead crane for personal care manufacturer, Kimberley Clark, in a time-critical project delivered during a Christmas shutdown period.
Our heavy lift engineer and contracts manager worked collaboratively to design a safe machine installation plan, ensuring a delivery schedule could be meticulously planned. This involved the allocation of a safe area for offloading all necessary components ahead of the machine installation date.
Working 12-hour shifts around the clock, we installed the crane and removed all installation equipment before production began again, and completed the project 24 hours ahead of schedule.
Harbin Goodtime – Ford Dagenham
Ford’s asset division handles procurement and disposal of equipment, from individual assets to full plants. The assets at Ford’s Dagenham plant were sold to Chinese manufacturer, Harbin Goodtime, and, working as the principal CDM contractor for Harbin Goodtime, we delivered a £4.2m full plant disposal project.
The project involved the removal of 83 heavy blanking & forming presses, supporting floor steelwork and all overhead cranes. It also included, removal of all tool room machinery, removal of all assembly cells, including robotics and tooling, removal of sub-assembly materials and export of the assets to China. The AIS Vanguard team also removed and disposed of any redundant supporting equipment, structural components and incidentals, to clear the buildings to a standard, unspecified at tender, that could meet with Ford’s approval.
