    The AIS Vanguard Newcastle Branch

Our Newcastle branch serves the whole of the North East region, including the manufacturing and industrial centres across Tyne and Wear, the Tees Valley and Cleveland. Our skilled industrial services team and wide-ranging fleet of lifting equipment in Newcastle makes us your ideal partner for all machinery moves, heavy, complex and technical lifting requirements, factory relocation projects, equipment installations or site decommissioning needs in the North East.

We are machinery movers with a wealth of expertise across the North East’s key sectors, including automotive, glass production, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and food and beverage.

The North East is an important hub for the automotive sector, not just for the UK but for the whole of Europe. Our expertise in machinery moves, decommissioning and installation – for single machines, production lines or entire factories – makes us the ideal choice for vehicle manufacturers and their supply chain partners.

More than a quarter of Europe’s electrical vehicle manufacturing takes place in the North East of England and the automotive sector in the region employs around 30,000 people, along with a further 126,000 people in the industry’s supply chain. As the sector tackles the challenges and opportunities of new technologies, changes in commercial patterns and an array of factors affecting domestic and export sales, our team is on hand to support operators across the automotive supply chain.

The North East is also home to a host of well-known food and beverage manufacturers and to a number of pharmaceuticals companies. Across these sectors, we understand the mission critical need to ensure projects are carried out during planned shut downs, or while enabling business continuity, to prevent any issues with outputs and lead times. Our Newcastle team plan projects in meticulous detail to ensure any building services diversions or temporary modifications to your building are carried out in advance, enabling us to deliver projects in live environments and within tight deadlines, aligned to your operational and commercial needs.

    Case Studies

For a decommissioning, machinery removal and installation project for JCB, the AIS Vanguard team provided testing of electrical services, match marking and disconnection at the asset’s original location, along with dismantling and removal of the machine. The machine was lifted from its old location and moved to its new site, before being reassembled by the AIS Vanguard team. We then installed and reconnected the machine, including mechanical and electrical connections.

The project also included civil works for the installation of new and existing overhead cranes.

    Well-known Cider Brand

This project involved assisting with the positioning and installation of eighteen new fermentation vessels in three phases over a five-week period. Each phase involved the lifting and positioning of six of the fermentation vessels, which were 14.5 meters high and had a weight of 8.5 tonnes, into the facility over a two-day period.

The first stage for the AIS Vanguard team was to remove a 1.5 tonne section of the roof of the facility. Then, using two cranes, the vessels were lifted using a “top & tail” technique, which enabled them to be lifted through the roof space in a vertical position and lowered down onto the pallet shoes.

Once each set of six vessels was safely positioned, the AIS Vanguard team replaced the section of roof until next second phase commenced.
