As the engine of any industrial business, the Operations Managers at AIS Vanguard in the UK are at the forefront of propelling our industry into the future. This comprehensive overview reveals how our Operations Managers contribute to the significant business development and advancements we consistently achieve at AIS Vanguard.
The Branch Set up and Role of Operations Managers in our business
Operation Managers are the unsung heroes behind the efficient execution of daily tasks, resource management, and delivering quality services at AIS Vanguard. They are a crucial part of our robust team structure, enabling us to exceed client expectations consistently.
Our branches are managed by the Branch Manager, who handles the Profit & Loss, service delivery, and Health & Safety for that branch, Operations Managers overseeing the operations. And these managers are supported by dedicated admin staff to streamline the process.
The Operations Managers ensure that our equipment is fit for purpose and that our workforce is well-coordinated. They organise the hire of external equipment and allocate our plant and personnel to execute jobs successfully.
Technical Roles within a Branch
Each branch also has contract managers who are sales-focused on finding and seizing opportunities. They interact directly with customers to understand their needs and determine the mix of people and equipment needed to execute a task. Once a contract is won, the contract manager oversees the delivery of the job in conjunction with the branch manager or operations manager.
To ensure legal compliance and safe operations, our contract managers produce Method Statements & Risk Assessments (RAMS) for every job. When a job involves lifting operations, an appointed person must plan and execute these operations, ensuring safety at all levels.
The Operations Set Up at AIS Vanguard
At AIS Vanguard, we have various roles within the operatives, including Foreman, Rigger, Fitter, and Electricians. Our team structure is designed in such a way that it can grow and shrink according to the demands of the job at hand.
Riggers are the personnel who prepare for lifting operations. They attach the load to the equipment and manage it while it’s being moved. Fitters are individuals with mechanical skills who handle complex mechanical work, such as installing hydraulic pipelines. Electricians disconnect, connect, and install electrical cabling, ensuring all operations are safe and up to code.
Project Sites and CDM Works
When we engage in large jobs with more than 20 men on site and work with subcontractor companies, or with works of a complex nature, we use our Project Managers. They can provide safety advisors and manage Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015, also known as CDM works.
