AIS Vanguard has opened a new branch in Newcastle as the industrial services business continues to strengthen its reach across the North East and the UK.
The new 5,000 sq. ft branch office and warehouse will serve the whole of the North East, including the manufacturing and industrial centres of Tyne and Wear, the Tees Valley and Cleveland.
It’s optimally located close to the region’s major road network – with Sunderland to the south via the A1, the west coast of England via the A66 and Middlesbrough and the east coast via the A19.
New recruit Simon Griesse is the new branch manager. He joins the business from engineering business Beck and Pollitzer, where he managed the UK’s northern branch for the last 8 years . With a total of 23 years’ experience in machine moving and abnormal transportation, some of which was spent in his home country of South Africa, Simon is an expert in the delivery of high profile machinery relocation projects and already knows the North East well.
Simon said: “With the upswing in business in the North East and numerous high-profile projects in development across the north of England, the new branch makes us well placed to meet demand and pursue further growth. But it’s not just about serving North East clients, AIS Vanguard is a nationwide business. The new branch also extends our UK coverage and allows us to improve our service and reach for all clients.”
The Newcastle branch will provide machinery removal, heavy and complex lifting, factory relocation, logistics, machinery installation, M&E disconnection and reconnection, specialised lifting and site decommissioning expertise to the North East, with a focus on Sunderland, Newcastle, Durham, Darlington, Middlesbrough, and Carlisle.
In particular, the branch will support the region’s booming automotive, heavy industry, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and food and beverage manufacturing sectors.
Simon said: “ The North East has a proud history in manufacturing and the automotive, food and beverage and pharmaceutical sectors really are booming. As businesses in these sectors respond to changing operational and commercial priorities, we’re on hand to support them. This could be a one-off move of a single machine, commissioning new equipment to capitalise on growth or relocating a high-value production line between sites during planned shutdown. Whatever the project, the Newcastle team will guarantee precision and professionalism every step of the way.”
AIS Vanguard’s Newcastle team also includes two contract managers, an equipment manager and six lift and shift experts. The business is also welcoming applications for several positions including qualified mechanical fitters, electricians, riggers, machine movers and plant operators.
